The Society of Silver Dollar Collectors Annual Meeting
January 9
The Society of Silver Dollar Collectors (SSDC) holds its Annual Meeting in conjunction with the Florida United Numismatists (FUN) in early January of every year.
The SSDC gives awards at the annual VAM Thing to recognize members of the VAM collecting hobby for their achievements and contributions to the hobby. These awards were first given out at VAM Thing I in 2004. A list of various award recipients by category is given in the attached link.

Membership in the SSDC and attendance at its annual show is not only a learning experience, but a good way to network and get to know other members with similar interests. Much of the effort of SSDC members is given at VAMworld.com. This web site is an indispensable tool for Morgan and Peace silver dollar collectors.
In the show catalog:
3:15 PM: “My Top 12 VAMs for 2026,” by John Roberts.
Mr. Roberts is the director of attributions for ANACS grading service. He also writes a monthly column on VAMs in Coin World. What are his 2026 favorites? Attendees will find out in this outstanding educational program!
4:15 PM: “Annual VAM Thing,” Sponsored by the Society of Silver Dollar Collectors, John Roberts Presiding.
Again, the January FUN Convention hosts this annual get-together of Morgan and Peace dollar variety enthusiasts. The latest discoveries and the newest varieties will be among the topics presented. Both new collectors and veteran dollar specialists are welcome to attend.
This is the 21st VAM Thing, held at FUN every year except for 2021. Instead of VAM Thing, a bunch of us hung out on Zoom for a while that afternoon that year.
