Methods of Giving

Bequests

Donors may designate the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research as a charitable beneficiary in a will. Some of the most common ways are:

  • As a sole beneficiary
  • As the beneficiary of a specific dollar amount
  • As the beneficiary of a percentage of the estate
  • As the beneficiary of the balance of an estate after other specific needs have been fulfilled
  • As a contingent beneficiary in case other beneficiaries do not survive

Trusts

Trusts are gift arrangements that are made now and provide the donor or other designated beneficiaries with current or future income, as well as tax benefits. An example is a Charitable Remainder Trust.

Life Insurance

Donors can name the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research as a beneficiary of an existing or new life insurance policy.

Retirement Plan

Donors can name the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research as a beneficiary of an IRA or other retirement plan.

Real or Personal Property

The following includes several examples of suggested bequest wording to benefit the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research. Each individual situation is unique and, therefore, these examples include only some of the possible gift opportunities. We encourage you to share your final will provision with the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research to ensure that your wishes will be properly followed and recognized.

A. Percentage of estate for unrestricted purposes I give, devise, and bequeath to the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research, a not-for-profit organization located in Randolph, New Jersey, _____ percent (%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate as an unrestricted gift to be used at the discretion of the Board of Governors for the general purposes of the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research, located in Randolph, New Jersey.

B. Percentage of estate for specific purposes with an endowment provision I give, devise, and bequeath to the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research, a not-for-profit organization located in Randolph, New Jersey, _____ percent (%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to establish the ____________________

ENDOWED FUND.

The principal of this Fund shall be invested as part of the Institute for Silver Dollar Education and Research’s permanent endowment and in accordance with its policies.
